Mumbai: Sony SAB’s much-loved show Pushpa Impossible continues to hold a special place in the hearts of its audience. With a major seven-year leap, the narrative has entered a deeper, more intense phase—bringing new layers and revelations for its central characters. Among them is Chirag, whose evolved persona is now being portrayed by actor Nitin Babu. Once adored for his warmth and charm, Chirag’s path now winds through the complex worlds of politics, relationships and personal growth.
In an exclusive conversation, Nitin Babu opens up about embracing Chirag after the leap, the process of shaping a character already rooted in viewers’ minds, and what lies ahead for the show.
Q1. When you were offered the role of Chirag, what was your first reaction?
Nitin Babu:
When the role of Chirag came to me, my first reaction was a blend of excitement and curiosity. Excitement—because the character felt instantly alive and full of potential; and curiosity—because I sensed there was so much beneath the surface waiting to be explored. I remember thinking, “This is going to be a fun challenge,” and I genuinely felt grateful for the opportunity to bring him to life.
Q2. Which aspects of Chirag’s personality did you find the most interesting or challenging?
Nitin:
Chirag is a committed member of a political party, someone who carries responsibility and strength with sincerity. He is loving and genuinely helpful, yet at times his tone may come across as blunt or straightforward to outsiders. But behind this firmness lies a deeply loyal, soft-hearted, almost lover-boy personality. He cares for the people around him and stands firmly for what he believes in—never supporting something he considers wrong. This duality makes him both fascinating and challenging to portray.
Q3. What preparation went into playing an already established character after a major leap?
Any workshops, briefings or specific research?**
Nitin:
Stepping into an established character post-leap required a mix of preparation, observation and a great deal of guidance. I began by watching previous episodes to understand Chirag’s roots—his journey, his relationships, and what the audience expected from him. A big part of my prep focused on his body language and tone. Chirag is loving, but his increased responsibilities have added a new intensity to him, so at times his voice may sound sharp. And honestly, the credit goes to our director—his vision, clarity and faith made the transition smooth. His guidance gave me the confidence to build this new version of Chirag.

Q4. Is there any part of Chirag’s journey that you personally connect with?
Nitin:
Absolutely. I connect most with his strong moral compass. He may appear sharp on the outside, but inside, his loyalty, love, and genuine desire to do the right thing guide him. Balancing responsibility and emotion is a big part of his journey—and it feels very real to me. Like Chirag, I also believe in standing up for what’s right, even when it isn’t the easiest path.
Q5. Pushpa’s bond with her children is the heart of the show. How do you see Pushpa and Chirag’s relationship after the leap?
Nitin:
Their emotional connection is still as strong as ever, but now it has gained an added layer of respect and understanding. Chirag has grown up, taken on responsibilities, and Pushpa recognizes this. They may argue, and he may sound stern at times, but deep down he is still that loving, protective son. Their relationship now feels like two strong individuals who become even stronger together.
Q6. How has your experience been working with Karuna Pandey and the rest of the cast?
Nitin:
Honestly, it has been wonderful. Karuna ma’am is incredibly grounded and warm. The sincerity she brings to every scene naturally elevates your own performance. Working with her feels effortless—you always feel supported. The entire cast is extremely welcoming and cooperative. The set has a positive, family-like energy that makes every day exciting.
Q7. Without giving away spoilers—what can viewers expect in the coming episodes?
Nitin:
Viewers can expect a roller-coaster of emotions, new conflicts and surprising twists in relationships. Chirag will face challenges that will test both his strength and his heart. Overall, the story after the leap carries the same soul—family bonds, strong values and many heart-warming moments—only now, the stakes are bigger and the journey more intense.
